Group Task: Research

For the theoretical exhibition our group is planning I was given the task of researching 'Advertising' and below is what I found:

NEWSPAPERS

www.gloucs.thisisads.co.uk

You can place an advertisement online to appear in a weekly local paper through this website, the website does package deals to get your advertisement across to a wider audience and range of readers.

5cm x 1 column ad package you could get:

Gloucestershire Echo - x6 Inserts
Gloucester Citizen - x6 Inserts
Stroud Life - x1 Week

For either:
£27.99 (SUPER-AD) +£2.50 per +1cm
£10.99 (General ad) +£5.00 per +1cm

You can also choose to get your advertisement in The Post and The Bath Chronicle for an additional £7.50 package deal OR for £5.00 each.

Another newspaper I looked at getting an advertisement in was the University of Gloucestershire's newspaper, SPACE, which we could try and arrange a free deal with as students studying at the university.

POSTERS/FLYERING

To keep costs and make our poster photocopy friendly we would look at creating a Black and White design for our poster.

Price?
7p per A3 paper copy
If we got our poster design to fit 6x A3 sheet and printed x100 copies, we would make 600 posters/flyers and the cost would be only £7.00.

Where?
Ideas for where we would hand out our flyers or put up our posters:
- University of Gloucestershire campus', Park, FCH, Oxtalls
- Town centre
- Shops/Local businesses
- Train station
- Bus stops
- Art gallery

SOCIAL MEDIA

Facebook:
- Create an event - make it a public event so that it is open to anyone, anyone can invite friends to join. Invite all your friends lists. Encourage others to do so too!
- Share event page
- Post statuses

Twitter:
- Create a #hashtag i.e. #BeingYoungExhibit
- @Local businesses, arts, people of interest and ask for retweets
- Post on current trends

APPS

- Create a 6 second video 'sneak preview' of the exhibition
- Tag and add to trends, arts, promotion
- Re-vine and popular-page
