Areas I have found difficulty in illustrating have been drawing hands and feet and contextualizing by drawing an environment for characters. I often find my characters hiding or covering their hands and it's uncommon for a full detailed environment or background to be in my work. To improve on these aspects I will practice drawing both anatomy and out on location. A fear of failure is something I battle with and I will have to learn not to throw out a drawing if it doesn't go to plan, as all drawings can be used as a learning curve and developing as an illustrator.
I would also like to explore digital illustration at some point, if only briefly, as I have a basic understanding of using Photoshop, editing and other digital programming but zero experience in creating digital art or using a tablet. I am fairly confident in traditional methods of illustration and having a greater understanding for digital illustration could help improve how I present traditional methods. To do this I think I will just have to experiment on Photoshop and get a feel for digital art - I don't wish to pursue digital illustration in my practice but a basic understanding would lend itself to traditional illustration which I wish to do.
