We had a talk from our tutor and practicing illustrator, Fumio Obata.
Fumio's work has a strong sequential and narrative element to it with a
strong story boarding and understanding of planning being notable in his
work. Both the style and content of Fumio's work is interesting to me and I
found there is a great depth of character development - without knowing
anything of the characters in his work you can see and understand a
great deal about them.
As a guest speaker and tutor I find Fumio's work incredibly appealing to look at and useful to have as not just a guest speaker but a tutor to help me week-to-week with the development of my own work and ideas. His insight on story boarding and creating sequence is invaluable for the module AD5505 - Sequential Illustration.
