In my own time I enjoy painting using oil paints on canvas. Since starting my Illustration (BA Hons) degree at the University of Gloucestershire I haven't really had the time or drive to sit down and paint for pleasure. I have instead taken to painting commissioned pieces, in particular portraits and most recently animal portraits.

I was commissioned by a local veterinary nurse back home in Wokingham, I was asked to paint her a portrait of her German Shepherd.

I painted her dog as an oil on canvas painting and I was paid the sum of £100.00 for my work. I painted this piece on canvas and there was difficulty and greater expense at getting a canvas framed, for future commissions I will look into painting on something easier to frame.
